{"id":1628,"date":"2023-07-26T12:05:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-26T10:05:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.seed4africa.eu\/agritech-capacity-building-and-knowledge-transfer\/"},"modified":"2023-10-11T09:16:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T07:16:48","slug":"agritech-capacity-building-and-knowledge-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.seed4africa.eu\/es\/agritech-capacity-building-and-knowledge-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"Agritech capacity building and knowledge transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project aims to enhance the <strong>professional profile of African VET teachers<\/strong> and <strong>trainers<\/strong> in the field of <strong>agriculture<\/strong> and&nbsp;<strong>rural development <\/strong>by offering online, face-to-face and work-based learning opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to do so,&nbsp; <strong>SEED4AFRICA<\/strong> will support the <strong>establishment<\/strong> of an international <strong>network of VET <\/strong>\u2013 <em>Vocational Education and Training&nbsp; <\/em>\u2013 providers in <strong>3 different countries <\/strong>(Italy, Belgium and Spain) and <strong>5 Sub-Saharan countries<\/strong> (Niger, Benin, Ghana,&nbsp; Kenya and South Africa) with the potential to furtherly extend within the EU, as well as in the whole southern African region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project activities will promote the <strong>enhancement of VET quality <\/strong>and <strong>attractiveness<\/strong>, with a specific focus on <strong>smart, digital <\/strong>and <strong>sustainable<\/strong> <strong>farming<\/strong>, in particular by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. <strong>Adapting<\/strong> and <strong>transferring<\/strong> the <strong>results<\/strong> of 3 good practices financed by the Erasmus+ programme for the design of innovative training approaches and materials in agricultural education, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">o <strong><u>SEED &#8211; Smart Entrepreneurial Education and training in Digital farming<\/u><\/strong>, which has developed a joint digital farming curriculum for the training of Digital Transformation Agents in Agriculture, mapped both of DigComp and EntreComp framework of the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">o <strong><u>PONICS VET &#8211; Hydroponics Agricultural Technician <\/u><\/strong>that offers a <strong>guide for VET teachers <\/strong>and <strong>trainers<\/strong> who want to specialize on Controlled Environment Agriculture methods and technologies, as well as an e-learning short course on sustainable agriculture techniques and innovation for rural and semi-urban farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">o <strong><u>LiveAdapt &#8211; Solutions for the adaptation of Extensive Livestock to Climate Change<\/u><\/strong>, a LIFE project that has supported the <strong>development<\/strong> of a <strong>flexible training plan<\/strong> consisting of several <strong>modules<\/strong>, that allows extensive livestock stakeholders to compose their own training program, according to their&nbsp; concerns and level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. <strong>Enhancing<\/strong> <strong>communication<\/strong> and <strong>cooperation<\/strong> among <strong>VET providers<\/strong>, at <strong>local<\/strong> and <strong>international<\/strong> <strong>level<\/strong>, exchanging <strong>good practices<\/strong>, <strong>initiatives<\/strong> and <strong>tools<\/strong>, also with the organization of job shadowing and technical visits for African&nbsp; VET teachers and technical staff in the schools of the <strong><u>ENNE National Networks <\/u><\/strong>represented in the project;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. <strong>Innovating<\/strong> the provision of <strong>VET programmes <\/strong>encouraging the collaboration between <strong>educational institutions<\/strong>, <strong>public authorities <\/strong>and <strong>private companies<\/strong>, especially through the conduction of contest based initiatives, such as hackathons and innovation bootcamps, where mixed teams of <strong>VET students <\/strong>and <strong>Agriculture<\/strong> <strong>stakeholders<\/strong> will co-design <strong>digital<\/strong> and <strong>entrepreneurial<\/strong> <strong>solutions<\/strong> for societal challenges linked to the Sustainable Development Goals of the Agenda 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SEED4AFRICA will have a duration of 36 months, from September 2022 until August 2025, and it will create the conditions to create a new sustainable cooperation among VET schools from different countries in order to create long term synergies to enhance VET attractiveness.
