Agritech capacity building and knowledge transfer at events: CDFA

FarmTech Society was invited to engage with the Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and a delegation of AgTech leaders from California (e.g. Growers) will visit the Netherlands. The purpose was to visit, engage and exchange with the advanced and innovative cluster of growers, researchers, trainers and tech suppliers in the region of South Netherlands called Westland.

FTS Introduction: The Seed4Africa project aims to enhance the professional profile of African VET teachers and trainers in the field of agriculture and rural development by offering online, face-to-face and work-based learning opportunities.

‘Building a global ecosystem to commercialize Ag-tech solutions to solve global food, health & sustainability challenges’.

Global Controlled Environment Agriculture Consortium (GCEAC) collaboration. Under the umbrella topic: Climate Smart Agriculture they will visit our country to get inspired on innovation and to strengthen the relationships between California and The Netherlands in tackling our common challenges in our agriculture & food system.

FTS was discussing the Erasmus Plus project Seed4Africa in the context of the global shortage of career options and training programs for trainers and advisors, which can be utilized for the same demand in North- and Central America.

SEED4AFRICA will support the establishment of an international network of VET Vocational Education and Training  – providers in 3 different countries (Italy, Belgium and Spain) and 5 Sub-Saharan countries (Niger, Benin, Ghana,  Kenya and South Africa) with the potential to furtherly extend within the EU, as well as in the whole southern African region.
